Let me clarify about my first post about Sweden respecting the Philippine’s ban of deployment of Filipinos as aupairs which is the reason the title of my post is Filipinos is Filipino au pairs is not welcome In Sweden. It is not to discredit any au pair matching agencies that provide Filipino aupairs to families in Sweden but I just based the information on the announcement posted at their site at http://www.migrationsverket.se/english.jsp?english/eat/eataupair.html
I also based on the Philippines newspaper report last about au pairs which you can read here and I knew personally 2 Filipinas who worked as au pairs here in Denmark who we’re denied when they applied as au pairs after their term in Denmark. But they told me that their application was denied because Sweden uphold the au pair ban in the Philippines so I presumed that they don’t welcome Filipinos as au pairs. One of these two Filipinas went home to the Philippines because she did not apply to other country like for example in Norway but the other girl is in Sweden not as an aupair but as a student.
It was written in a hurry and was in fact happy that finally one country in Europe respects the Philippines au pair ban. But someone commented or corrected me obviously from an agency so I have to verify the matter to the authorities concerned right away.
I wrote the Swedish Migration Board for clarification and they replied to me last 24 April 2009 that
“Au-pair permit and citizens of the Philippines is a special case. Sweden can not give an Au-pair permit to a citizen of the Philippines if they apply from the Philippines. This is because they will not be allowed to leave the country with an au-pair permit. However, there are no general rule stating that we are not allowed to give a citizen of the Philippines an Au-pair permit. Hence if a citizen of the Philippines has a permit to stay in another country and from that country applies for an Au-pair permit this might be approved (if the persons fulfill the requirements).”
So Filipinos living outside the Philippines you still can apply as au pair in Sweden but you have to know your right so as not to repeat what has happened in Denmark and currently in Norway (based on the current news).
As part of au pair awareness I will post the requirements for applications as well the reiterate the rights of au pairs.

If you read the reply form the embassy you can try. Just send your application if you already found a host then why not but my presonal advice you have to have other alternatives so you will not be left with only one choice that to to go back when you are disapproved.

According to their site it takes 2 weeks for visa processing so I don’t know really but you can inquire by emailing them at upplysningen@migrationsverket.se but just remember you can not apply form the Philippines.

good day po!
ask ko lng po sana, what if my nakahanap na po na host family sa sweden tapos submit po yung application? what if paubos na po yung au pair visa dito sa denmark, anu po maaring gawin habang hihintay yung papers? maari po bang umuwi ng pilipinas at hintayin na lang po dun yung pagprocess ng visa as an aupair sa sweden?

hi po ask ko lang po pwede po ba ang ganitong situation because i am now in europe me and my boyfriend apply as an au pair is it still possible dahil ang bf ko nsa pinas at aq eh nasa europe?same requirements din po ba ang kukunin ng boyfriend ko pag ngapply din po sya?san po pede makahanap ng good site for finding host family kasi sa dami ko po inaplyan ang problem most of them are scammer and this is my first year being an au pair.please i need your advice.thanks po godbless

Pwede naman mag apply ang bf kahit nasa Pinas sya basta hwag lang sa Sweden anywhere pwedeng sa Denmark, Holland, Norway etc. check nyo na lang sa mga embassies ang requirement. Magtanong tanong ka rin sa mga kakilala mo mas madali pag personally referred sya. I emailed you. Regards

May mga kakilala ako na hinintay ang permit nila dito sa Denmark importante may matitirhan ka pero mas sigurado kung itanong mo sa Immigration service kasi pag umuwi ka di panibangong bayad mo naman sa escort sa airport. Tip lang bakit di ka mag apply din sa Norway or sa Holland para marami ka choices. Good luck and Regards

If you fulfill the requirements for example you below 29 years and so on why not give it a try. Just be wary of scammers.

Just check this site http://www.studyinsweden.se/Home/ . First and foremost you should have your credentials authenticated in the Philippines like diploma, trancript of grades etc.
Like in Denmark application should be send 6 months or more so check out he site where you can download the application form https://www.studera.nu/english.

If you are below 29 went to school for at least 10 years then you are qualified but check out the requirements since it is different from country to country.
Sweden doensn’t take aupairs from the Philippines since they uphold the on going ban and watch for scammers.

@Jeniel, Yes Male can be also be aupair. There are filipino male aupairs here in Denmark.

i would like to ask.. how could an au pair go out of phils if ongoing po ung ban ng au pairs from phils?? may friend po kc ako na hindi xa pinalusot ng airport immigration police kc au pair daw and dapat may POEA and CFO daw xa.. banned nga, so why those immigration officers asked for those documents??

There are lot of advantages of the aupair system because you will able to experience another culture besides ours which the concept of the aupair system. But it is used in a different from what is it was meant to be thats why the Philippine’s Goverment imposed the ban to protect it’s citizen from unscrupulous agents/agencies in the 90’s cause it was being used to lure women to become an aupair but in reality they unwillingly forced to worked as prostitutes and also as a domestic worker.
But your friend’s problem about securing POEA or CFO is kind of confusing because there is still ban on aupair so she should not leave the country as aupair but she should ask her agency about it or I guess she don’t have the so called “escort” in the airport that’s why they ask a lot things. Even if she go to POEA I guess they can’t help her because of the ban. Like I said she has to ask her agent cause I believe that it is their responsiblity and they know about the ban especially if she paid that agent/agency.

Sabi po ng friend ko hindi sila nag hire ng agency.. may friend po kc xa from Nl, sila yung nag process ng au pair papers nya.. then when she finally got her visa and she was ready to leave, hindi xa naka lusot sa airport immigration and she was asked to have CFO and POEA clearances.. She didn’t have any idea about au pair ban here in Phils.. kawawa talaga friend ko..

@Lynn Kawawa nga naman sya problema wala naman akong alam dyan sa escort kundi yung mga nakaalis din balita ko mga 15-30 thousand daw ang hinihingi depende sa nalapita mo. Sana magtanong tanong sa ibang aupairs. join ng mga aupair page sa sa Facebook baka may magbigay ng tip. So andyan pa sya sa Pinas. sayng naman mga nagastos. Yun ang mahirap din sa emabassy dpat may onformation sila na ban yun para alam ng mga applicants kung ano ang pinapasok nila.

Just to to have some clarifications.
D’ba ban na ang au pair visa for filipinos since kailan pa ba yun?
pero bakit po ‘yong fren ko nakalusot po? Kawawa tuloy ‘yong iba n’yang kasama balita ko po hanggang airport lang.
So aside from au pair visa ang i prepare ano nalang po ba ‘yong dapat? Working visa po ba?

There is still an aupair ban kaya lang nakakaalis sila dahil kumuha sila ng escort ibig sabihin nagbabayad sila makakaalis sa air port.
Ang aupair ay hindi work kaya hindi working visa and ibibigay saiyo ayun sa mga aupair tourist visa and nakatatak iyo para pagdating mo sa host country papalitan nila ng aupair visa or Staying permit meaning hindi ka pwedeng magtrabaho kundi sa host family mo lang at dapat 5 hours per day lang kung hindi illegal na work pag sobra 30 hrs per week (Denmark rules)

Hello!
Ask ko lang po kung pano kung nag tourist ako sa isang bansa outside ng Pilipinas tapos dun ako nag apply ng au pair application ko po, pwede po kaya yun?
Nabanggit lang aking ng Tiyo ko na pinalabas sa Unang Hirit (GMA channel 7) program na may taga Iloilo na nag apply as Au pair to Denmark. Hindi lang sure kung nag apply sya dito sa Pinas or outside.
Kaya try akong mag search baka sakaling palarin.

Try mo lang magsearch marami naman nagpupunta sa Norway as aupair galing ng Pilipinas. Yung iba sariling sikap na naghanap at reffered ng mga kaibigan or kamag anak parang dito rin sa Denmark pwede ring thru agency but before you decide look at the requirements para alam mo ang papasukan mo para hindi ka maexploit ng agents or host families. Join ng mga aupair sites sa internet pero kwidaw sa mga nagraraket wag kayong maniniwala pag sinabing sweldo y napakalaki. Dito sa Denmark min. pocket money ay 2,900 danish crowns at sa Norway at 4,000 norwegina crowns yung iba more ang than that ang natatanggap pero pag doble ang pangako watch out. Pag sinabing pwedeng naman magtrabaho sa labas bawal pwedeng mapauwi ka.

Banned po ba yong au pair sa denmark ngayon and ano po yong escort na tnatawag possible po ba if sa indonesia nalang ako manggagaling nandoon kasi tita ko para madali lng yong application unlike dito sa pilipinas ang daming hinahanap makipagcommunicate nalang ako sa host family ko.

Hello.. i’ve just watched abs cbn news last september 23, 2010 and they said that there are lots of work as a aupair, all you need is to coordinate to poea. i’ve been to poea and ask all about this but they told me that im the one who will search for the agency.. So.. do you have a list of agency to recommend?

Hi Camille yes napanuod ko rin and trying to comment pero ayaw mapublish sa site nila comment ko kasi Mali naman ang aupair ay hindi yaya kaya marami ang naluluko kasi sa maling inpromasyon.
Importante under 25 yrs old ka ba kasi maximum age ay 25 yrs old lang. Marami ng magsusulputan na agency and may mga sumusulat sa akin pero ako hindi ako nagrerecommend ng agency dahil karamihan sa kanila ay puro kita lang ang nakikita. Aalukin ka ng language course eh hindi naman kailangan dahil sa bansa mo dapat pag aralan yun. Sa Switzerland dapat walang gastos ang aupair dahil yung agency sa Swisa and magfafacilitate ng gastos at kailangan may counterpart silang agency sa RP. POEA dapat may listahan sila.

Thanks, opo 22 years old po ako, actually im a registered nurse. Medyo confused lang po ako sa poea dahil kung wala silang ibibigay na list ng agency para makapag apply as aupair, bakit sila nagbigay na agad ng salary, and contract? Anyways regarding dun sa language course, meron akong napuntahan na agency somewhere in malate, they hired a nurse pero dapat ko muna mag aral ng finnish language which is 15k for 3 months. May assurance po ba yun kapag natapos yung language na magkakawork ako sa finland?ok naman kasi walang placement fee kaya lang ako yung sasagot sa 15k na aral ng language. thanks again

hi maam ask ko lng poh ma end yong visa ko as au pair in norway dec 27, 2010 naka pag apply poh ko ng resident permit sa sweden last 3 months ago tanong ko incase uwi ako pinas before dec 27 its possible ba na ma get koang visa stump sa swedish embassy manila kong ma approved ung application kahit s norway ako nag apply thanks poh sana mbigyan mo ako ng idea mny times na kase ako call busy lage ang line

Residence permit so ibig sabihin nag asawa ka ng swedish or studentbut I suggest punta ka sa Swediah immigration at mag paalam ka usually bibigyan ka ng temporary visa na on process ang application mo para ka makabalik sa Sweden kc kung hindi di ka makakabalik ganyan ang process d2 sa DK so I assume ganyan din sa SE.
